Prof. Jakoby accepted as a member of the ÖAW

Bernhard Jakoby was elected a full member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) in April 2022.
Prof. Jakoby is thus currently the only active scientist at JKU who is also a real member of the ÖAW.

He has received many awards for his work in the fields of theory and application of integrated sensors and liquid sensors as well as electromagnetic fields, including the PRIZE award for the best university prototype projects (2009) or the Outstanding Paper Award of the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control Society (2010).

The K-Projects PSSP, PAC and imPACts are set within FFG's COMET - funding-progam.

The strategic objectives of COMET are: developing new expertise by initiating and supporting long-term research co-operations between science and industry in toplevel research, and establishing and securing the technological leadership of companies. By advancing and bundling existing strengths and by integrating international research expertise Austria is to be strengthened as a research location for the long term.
